Home Front Judging
NURTURING COMMUNITY, ONE GARDEN AT A TIME
Coronado comes alive when creativity and community bloom together. Join us in celebrating the charm of our streets—one ribbon at a time.
What Is Home Front Judging?
Every spring, the Coronado Floral Association rallies over 150 volunteers to walk our neighborhoods, seeking standout front gardens, cottage landscapes, and eco-conscious designs. From creative floral artistry to water-wise practices, these efforts transform our island into a vibrant gallery of floral pride. Awards range from Blue (First Prize) through Red and Yellow, with Green Ribbons honoring Earth-friendly presentations.
How It Works
March 26th: Volunteers pick up judging materials—guidelines, ribbons, route maps—typically at a community location like the Library Winn Room.
Judging Weekend: Teams stroll assigned streets (e.g., March 27–29, 2026) to award ribbons based on creativity, presentation, and ecological design.
Patriotic Entries: In patriotic-themed contests (e.g., 4th of July), homes must feature an American flag and at least three additional decorative elements, assessed by CFA’s Co-Chairs.
Join the Tradition
We would love to welcome you as a judge, a nominee of a frontage, or as a home front gardener who simply celebrates the beauty of Coronado in your own yard.

2026 Home Front Judging Results
The 103nd Coronado Flower Association Home Front Judging results are in! Over one-hundred and fifty community volunteers participated in this fun-filled home-appreciation judging process. Awards were handed-out to many deserving home fronts: Blue Ribbons for First Prize, Red Ribbons for Second Prize, Yellow Ribbons for Third Prize and, this year, Green Ribbons to Earth-Friendly home fronts, those who focus on water conservation and minimal maintenance. Additional awards (noted by an asterisk) were given to Blue Ribbon winners in the over sixty-plus (60+) Judging Zones from which a Best Home Front, First Home Front Runner Up, Second Home Front Runner Up and Top Ten Winners were selected. The Coronado Cays Community competed similarly and were awarded The Best in the Cays, First Runner Up and Second Runner Up. A “blooming” good time was had by all! Thank you to the many hands that made this process possible.
